hi, this is dave from bitter/books, responding to your comment on my community dolla post about where to find used furniture. there are, of course, lots of options. i believe i read you're around south main somewhere so the community dolla warehouse would be worth checking out since it's right near you, also nearby are the MIFA store on vance ave and the salvation army on danny thomas blvd. south of you, the amvets on elvis presley blvd has some good deals, but some of their stuff is sort of ratty. don't bother with the shadow of treasuries further down presley, it's a dump. beyond that, it'd take a bit of driving, but the salvo out in bartlett on austin peay highway is a veritable furniture warehouse, and if you go all the way out there hit up the goodwill further down austin peay and the goodwill on stage rd, and the bibles for china on macon rd, just to justify the trip. there are a lot more places (i have that little google map on my blog you can check) but those are my first suggestions. glad to have you in memphis, good luck thrifting.
